The existing water distribution network in the Western Region sectors was proposed for replacement with a new network to improve the water supply system. The current water network in these areas is over 25 years old. Replacing the old network with a new one increased the network’s capacity and enhanced its operational efficiency. The project addressed the current and future water demand for the region, ensuring compliance with sufficient hydraulic parameters. 

This replacement initiative was undertaken based on the findings of the Survey & Condition Assessment of the Water Distribution Network in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi under Contract No. D-103291.  

The scope included replacing approximately 95 km of water distribution pipelines, along with all associated civil works, across Madinat Zayed, Ghayathi, Liwa, and Mirfa in the Western Region.
