Water Supply to Coastal Areas in Western Region

Previously, many customers in the coastal areas of Nad Al Shiba, Mahmiat Al Soqour, Al Wahidah, Al Sila Harbour, and Raa’s Mushairab were supplied with water by tankers due to unavailability of a distribution network. ADDC has now successfully transitioned from tanker services to providing water through a newly established distribution network in these areas. This milestone aligns with ADDC’s strategy to deliver an efficient and sustainable water supply system, eliminating dependence on tankers in the region.

  • Scope of Work:
    • ✔ DN 200 pipelines of approximately 80 km at Nad Al Shiba, Mahmiat Al Soqour, Al Wahidah, Al Sila Harbour, and Raa’s Mushairab.
    • ✔ New interface from TRANSCO DN 1600 pipeline to MDEC requirements in Nad Al Shiba and Mahmiat Al Soqour Coastal Areas.
    • ✔ Civil works including valve chambers, thrust blocks, protection slabs and road crossings.
    • ✔ All necessary connections between the new water network and the existing network, including house connections.
    • ✔ Associated mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works .
