The Yas Marina Circuit, home to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, is a renowned Formula One venue in the Middle East. Following a detailed site survey, several defects were identified in the ventilation systems of the team buildings’ kitchens. KN International was tasked with designing and supervising the rectification works to address these issues, ensuring the facility’s functionality was restored to the highest standards.
The rehabilitation focused on reconstructing and modifying the ventilation systems in 18 team buildings’ kitchens. This involved designing specifications for installing a new intake line of untempered, filtered make-up air, enhancing the exhaust line and fan from the existing kitchen hoods to the exterior, modifying the false ceilings, and performing enabling works, including rerouting as-built systems to facilitate unobstructed installation of new ducts.

KN International, as the engineering consultant, was tasked with conducting a detailed site survey of the potable water tank system, including both raw and filtered water tanks. The services provided included preparing the design and specifications for a contractor to install a new low-level suction line at the bottom of the potable water tanks, which would be directly connected to the potable water booster pumps.
Additionally, the scope included the installation of an anti-vortex system to prevent cavitation within the suction pipeline.

To ensure the proper maintenance of the chilled water network at the venue, KN International was tasked with addressing defects in areas where pipes were exposed to ambient air. The scope of work involved the removal of thermal insulation, anti-corrosion treatment of black steel pipes, and the application of a physically cross-linked, closed-cell insulation material on all exposed pipes.
KN’s responsibilities included providing site supervision during the rectification works to resolve the existing facility defects at the venue.
