The project is a design & build project for the construction of infrastructure at Ghantoot
H.Q. for GHQ Armed Forces, Command of Military Works CMW, in Ghantoot, partly
on reclaimed area, comprising of engineering, design, procurement, construction,
testing and commissioning for fuel tanks, fuel administration building, boundary and
retaining walls, several substations and lifting stations, fencing, converter buildings,
water tanks and pump room, underground oil tanks, sewerage treatment plants,
irrigation tanks, infrastructure and external utility services networks for chilled water,
fuel distribution, water supply, fire fighting, irrigation, foul water drainage, storm water
drainage, electrical distribution, street lighting, security ducts, telephone, fire alarm
and jetty area services for lighting, power and telephone and SCADA system, roads
etc., MEP services for all facilities.
KN International was employed by Strabag as the lead consultant for design of the
services to be carried out according to the submitted contract drawings in concept
design as submitted by the client CMW. KN International provided structural, infrastructure
road and MEP engineering design, architectural design, development of
detailed design, preparation of missing details, design calculations, design reports,
in accordance with the submitted tender and contract documents.
The scope covered architectural, civil, structural mechanical, electrical, plumbing and
all other disciplines of the project. The design developed by KN International was
approved for construction and in concerns with CMW Standards, and local regulatory
authorities like ADM, ADDC, and Civil Defense etc.
KN International was responsible for full detailed design coordination and interface
between all services and disciplines of the project.
